In 1987, Kestrel introduced its revolutionary 4000: the world’s first- ever, all-carbon composite bike frame. Continuing in this industry- leading tradition, the modern-age 4000 remains one of the most recognizable tri bikes in the industry. It’s designed specifically for the most demanding triathlons, and it’s been proven time and again by some of best triathletes in the world; former Olympian, 4-time USAT Triathlete of the Year, and 22-time Ironman 70.3 winner Andy Potts raced his 4000 into the Top 5 at the 2014 Ironman World Championship. This is a dedicated machine for long-distance performance, made possible with design features that make the rider more comfortable.

THE RIDER

The Kestrel 4000 is for serious triathletes looking for a tri-specific, proven weapon with superior aerodynamics – but that also offers optimum comfort and adjustability.

All models are constructed of 800K high-modulus carbon fiber: Kestrel’s lightest carbon construction used only on SL (Super Light) models. Kestrel’s 800K carbon uses inner polyurethane molds in high-stress areas such as the BB shell and head tube to minimize wrinkles in the carbon layers for greater compaction and stiffness to ensure the lightest and strongest frame possible.

Geometry is ideal for the demands of long-distance triathlons; a slightly taller head tube allows for a more upright position to keep the legs fresh and strong for the run.

Designed in the A2 Wind Tunnel, the stays, seat post, and seat tube are aerodynamically contoured; plus, fully internal cable routing ensures clean airflow over the entire bike.

New rear stays are shaped to fit all the commonly available deep-dish and disc wheels, while preserving aerodynamics.
