For some, to throw a leg over a carbon bike is to bolster their status as a cyclist. For others, saddling a carbon road bike is to saddle a loyal steed. A steed that responds without hesitation when you tell it to “giddy up!” This isn’t to say that all carbon frames are good listeners, as many might achieve the svelte weight, but may lack the snap to gallop in a hurry. This is not the case for the Raleigh Militis 2.

The layup for the Militis frame is a proprietary blend of high modulus fibers. Not being content with merely using high grades of carbon, Raleigh stringently used the right carbon in the right places in order to achieve the Militis’s impressive stiffness-to-weight ratio. When paired with a tapered headtube, oversized downtube and chainstays, the Militis’s careful construction results in a light 880 gram frame that has all the stiffness where it counts. With this kind of rigidity surrounding a Shimano 105 drivetrain, this ride doesn’t need to be bribed with your wallet in order for it to lash out and attack.
